A very rare pair of elegant patinated cast iron Firedogs / Andirons.

Manufactured by Thomas Elsley Ltd, Portland Metalworks, London c1898.

These were originally available in two sizes,

this pair being the smaller size 12" high x 7" wide x 7" deep.

A pair of identical design are in the collection of the Museum of Modern Art (MOMA) in New York.
